As the popularity of digital cameras has increased, the growing demand for digital
photo services has presented retailers with a great opportunity to compete in and profit
from the digital photofinishing business. Delivering scalable, flexible and affordable
solutions for every retail photo environment, Sony has introduced the UPA-PC500
digital photofinishing controller.
The UPA-PC500 forms the core of the system. An all-in-one package that includes an
easy-to-use GUI, various media inputs and a 15-inch touch screen.
The new version 4500 software can be configured for either self-service operation or
internal operation by a dedicated operator. When combined with up to four Sony
printers and a scanner, it provides a full range of digital photofinishing services, making
it a valuable, revenue-generating tool for the retailer.
Compact and expandable
Thanks to its compact design, the UPA-PC500 can be deployed in limited spaces or
rack-mounted in a cabinet. By connecting to Sony DP printers* and other peripheral
devices such as an Epson scanner, a wide range of services becomes available.
*Up to three UP-DR150 printers and one UP-D75 printer.
Various media inputs
The UPA-PC500 is equipped with a durable memory-card reader and a DVD combo
drive that accepts most of today’s popular digital media. It can even scan and print
existing hardcopy photos, simply by being configured with an Epson 4990 Perfection
flatbed scanner.
